Some Android users joke that their devices themselves don’t know where they save files. Of course, it is not true. Here’s how to master downloads and use them like a pro.

Built-in File Manager

Modern models of Android smartphones have built-in Files by Google service, making it much easier to find the right materials and work with them. Open the app and pick the “Downloads” category and the same name tab. Here are all the files you have downloaded. Please note that saved pictures may automatically appear in the “Images” tab depending on the browser you use.

Direct Access to Internal Storage

Android devices allow users to navigate through folders just like on PCs. This format provides more freedom of action and instruments to copy and move materials anywhere. To access the internal storage in this way, find the “Storage devices” section at the very bottom of the screen through the Files app. Next, go to the “Internal storage” and open “Downloads”. This folder contains all the files you downloaded. To find out the exact path of each document or image, tap the three dots button and select “File info.”

Moving Saved Files

If you want to clean up the “Downloads” and move some items to another location, you need to click on the button with three dots. You can select the “Move to” option and define the path you want. You can pick an existing folder or create a new one on the spot. The files you chose will disappear from “Downloads” and appear in a new location. Also, you can not only move objects but also copy them without deleting them from the main folder.

As you can see, “Downloads” on Android are not as chaotic as they might seem. Files by Google gives you all the tools you need to deal with saved content on your device. Are you comfortable working with “Downloads” on Android? Are there any details you would like to improve?
